Email Marketing Service Provider: How to Choose the Right One for You
When you’re ready to start building your email list, the first step is to sign up for an email marketing service provider. There are lots of choices out there, but when you are just getting started, there are two that I recommend depending on your budget. And both are the best packages for their prices (one is even free!). This post will explore what an email marketing service provider is, why you need one, and the top two choices if you are just starting to build an email list. As always, if you have any questions, please leave a comment.

Email Marketing Service Provider: What is it?
An email marketing service provider helps you to build your email list and then contact those people who have signed up to be on your list.
With your email marketing service provider comes:
– Sign up forms so people can sign up to receive your emails. These can be put on your website or be stand-alone web pages.
– Lists. You can set up different lists for different offers so that you can email your subscribers information about what they want.
– Tracking. You can track the number of people who read your emails and click on your links.
– Depending on your service, an autoresponder feature that allows you to set up email sequences that people will automatically receive when they subscribe to one of your lists.
– Broadcasts which are emails you go in, write, and schedule that are then sent at the specified time and date to all of those on a particular list at that time.
– An easy way for people to unsubscribe from your list – that way your not paying for a subscriber that is not interested in what you’re offering.
These are just the basics that come with your different email service providers and many of them are far more sophisticated and offer lots of different tracking options, but when you’re just starting to build your email list, the above feature are all that you really need.
Email Marketing Service Provider: Why do you need one?
Building an email list is one of the best ways to have access to the people who need and want what you have and to build a relationship with them.
However, in order to build an email list, get subscribers, and get into people’s inbox you need to have an email marketing service provider.
And, this is the first thing you need to get set up in order to use your lead magnet.
So, I’m going to outline two difference services for you below. Choose one and sign up now so you can get started building your email list.
Email Marketing Service Provider: Free Option
While the free option with MailChimp does have some limitations, it can get the job done until you are ready to pay for an email marketing service provider.
With the free MailChimp account you can create forms to collect up to 2,000 subscribers and send out 6 broadcasts to your 2,000 subscribers a month. (In other words, you can send up to 12,000 emails a month with the free plan).
One of the drawbacks is the fact that you cannot set up an autoresponder with the free MailChimp account – so you can’t have a sequence that automatically goes out to your subscribers when they sign up or to promote a product launch.
However, there is a way to attach your lead magnet to the confirmation email that MailChimp will send out so you can still make sure that your new subscribers receive your freebie automatically upon signing up.
If you have $19.00/month that you can spend on your email marketing, then I highly recommend the next option.
Email Marketing Service Provider: More Flexibility
The other option that will give you more flexibility and a very reasonable price is Aweber.
For $19.00/month you can create a form for people to subscribe with, send broadcasts, and send autoresponder series which comes in handy when someone subscribes or when you are launching an evergreen product or service.
The price of the subscription only goes up when you get more than 500 subscribers, at which point you should already be making money from your list which will more than pay for your Aweber subscription.
And, you can stick with Aweber for the long haul if you want – I’ve known people who were making seven figures a year and using Aweber for their email marketing.
